Monoprinting: Painterly Prints without a Press

For beginning and experienced artists alike, this monoprinting class will explore a painterly and versatile form of printmaking which the artist can use to create prints without a press.  The process is fun, spontaneous and low-pressure. We will use small gelatin and Duralar plates and experiment with the use of painting and drawing techniques, stencils and stamps, texturing tools, and various mark-making techniques. Though no two prints are the same, the artist can make a series of related images or experiment with drastically different elements to produce a striking variety of results.
