Drop-off your children for a couple of hours after lunch at the Village Art Room, Monday-Thursday for a relaxing, community oriented art experience while you run errands, go to an appointment or meet a friend for coffee.
Our studio is sunny, clean and organized (in a comfortably creative way), safe and fully stocked with art supplies for your children to use. Our creative staff has projects on hand, both collaborative community oriented ones, and personal projects to take home. Examples include drawing, painting, stenciling, collage making, & hand crafts such as constructing houses and creatures with cardboard, foam core, tapes and wires.
A word of caution: We love children, and we are passionate about helping them work creatively. But Drop-Off Studio is not a baby-sitting service! A lot of people are working closely in a space filled with art supplies and equipment. Please, don’t leave your child if they are likely to be disruptive and need a lot of attention. And please, fill out the release/waiver before leaving your child.
Fees: Drop-off and Drop-in Studios are $10 an hour, and people can come and go anytime within those two hours. Second and third siblings are $5 off per session (whether one or two hours). And we offer sliding scale fees as well. Fees include basic art supplies like paper, pencils, colored pencils, non-toxic paint and pan water colors. Other supplies and projects can be purchased at a very reasonable cost.
Flexible fees, donations and sponsorships: Our purpose is to be a true community space, as accessible (no wheelchair accessibility yet! working on that) as possible to all members of the community. Our fees for Drop-in and Drop-off Studio do not cover the full costs! If you are able to pay more, or if you can make a donation or sponsor a scholarship you will be helping in the success of this wonderful community asset. We also welcome donations of art and craft supplies and equipment and we welcome volunteers.
How to pay: You can pay over the phone by calling us at 978-540-0221 or pay with cash, check or credit card at the Art Room.
